14 cheerful volunteers from near and far planted trees over the weekend of 8th and 9th March 2025. Fresh goodies were supplied to keep energy levels high.  After a misty start each day was bathed in warm sunshine.

Feedback from one group of volunteers : “We had a lovely time – saw hares chasing across the field, a red kite flying low and heard the sky larks. Beautiful. ” Trees planted included Rowan, Dogwood, Silver Birch, Goat Willow, a large Oak and Wild Cherry.

Tree planting success – Big Thank You

Ovington Trees had two successive sunny weekends of tree planting in March 2025. In total, 21 kind volunteers helped to plant 101 trees along field boundaries along the arboretum route. Species planted include Oak, Silver Birch, Hazel, Goat Willow, Dogwood, Wild Cherry and Rowan. It has even rained since to help the trees get established. Many thanks to all who helped — either on the day or as part of the preparation.
